Help! No Prescription Without Expensive Testing. State College, PA.

So, here is my story. I am a 31 year old female with severe ADD issues. My psychiatrist will not prescribe me Ritalin or Adderall (both of which I know work for me from prior not-so-legal means). He wants to send me for a very expensive battery of tests to prove that I indeed have ADD. I do not have the means to pay for the testing. In addition, it is not fair to force me to undergo testing for a condition I meet nearly every condition for. I will not go into specifics here as I believe we all know what they are. I have explored other psychiatrists in the area, and none will prescribe me without extensive testing. I live near State College, PA and am running out of doctors. Does anyone have an experience in or around Penn State that would help me out? My job is being severely affected, and I need help as soon as possible. Thank you.

Hi I just went through part one of the test. I thought my whole life that I had anxiety disorder but meds never helped. So ive been suffering my entire life UNTIL...I was put on a stimulant for weightloss and it CURED my mental issues. Anyway, I didn't plan on spending hundreds of dollars jumping through hoops to get an official dx but its important. It isnt so much about testing if you have it but they have to test you heart/liver and other things to rule out more serious things. I know it sucks but its worth it for an uncomplicated life with your meds.
