Can't stop NEW

I've been on adderall for about 7+ years now & my daily dose is 60 mg per day. I don't remember the last time I stayed within my dose. Then I was prescribed Vyvanse but I miss the "jolt" I got from the adderall so I am taking both. I'm not supposed to do that & it scares me. I have low blood pressure & haven't experienced any negative long term effects. However, my husband & close friends of mine have expressed concern about this. I don't call it an addiction because my understanding of that word is that you use a substance to avoid some kind of emotional pain. I can say with all honesty that I don't do it for that reason. What concerns me is the feeling of "oh no, I'm running out!" that I get if I don't have it with me. Has anyone gone thru this & what did you do to overcome this dependence? Thanks!

Have you tried Vyvanse? It works very well. I have been taking it for a couple years, with no need for an increase in dosage. It is rather expensive, about $160 per month without insurance. I went through Shire and they sent me a card to save half, so only $80 per month now.
