ADHD Gifted

Are people with ADHD gifted? This has been a question that I have been asking and wondering. Is there something special about children and adults that makes them ADHD and gifted?

I have seen shows (with ADHD gifted children), articles, and speeches about people that have ADHD and are very gifted. One example is something I read by Ron Paul, Presidential Candidate of 2008.

Ron Paul said, "The symptoms of ADHD are strikingly similar to indications that a child is gifted, and bored in an unchallenging classroom."

This came out of his talk about the over use and mis-diagnosis of medications.

I had someone say to me that I must be a genius because of the way I think. I don't see my self as a genius but maybe I do have some special gifting.

In my own thoughts about myself, and others, I think there is some kind of special giftings that adults and children with ADHD have.

We are very sensitive. That is why we have to have a strict diet. Many foods have artificial ingredients that irritate our bodies. Also, things like gluten and casein cause us problems. Why are we so sensitive to these things?

I find myself seeing things that happen, before they happen. I get "feelings" about things and they tend to come (or be) true.

3 Personal Stories

1) One example of this is when I had a vision. In this vision I saw a dark cloud or smoke with a background of a blue sky. I had no idea what it was. I had this "feeling" that a lot of people were about to die. I also sensed that an awakening was coming.

I was so full of pain, and hurt and it was so overwhelming. I didn't know what it was. 1 year and some months later, 9/11 happened. I didn't make the connection till I saw the picture of the smoking tower with the black smoke and the blue sky background.

2) One other that gets me thinking was when I was 2 years old, I didn't want to ride in the car. I kept saying, the tractor is going to get me. That is what I called tractor trailers.

It did. We were hit by a tractor trailer and it was a really bad car accident. I was 1 of 4 people that survived and 4 others died.

3) I have a gift to help people. As you see, I have developed this site myself and gathered this information to help others. I have been helping people with their problems since I was in elementary school. I talk to people about their problems and help them find solutions. The would normally go to a counselor or psychologist and not even receive this kind of help!


Psychic Television Show

I recently saw this television show about psychic children that were described as, children with a 6th sense. Because of my religions beliefs, I don't engage in talking with the dead, or these psychic kinds of things but I did watch the show.

These kids looked normal to me. I didn't see any indication that they had ADHD. During the show, I kept yelling at the tv, "These are the children that you say have ADHD!" How did I know that? Not sure.

Towards the end of the show, they did say that these kids are normally diagnosed with ADHD. These are ADHD gifted children. Spiritually gifted. These children are able to see things before they happen, sense spirits around, and these kinds of things.

This really started to make me wonder. What is the connection here. Extremely gifted people, spiritually and other, and have ADHD.

I really don't know. I do want to learn more about other people's experiences or about your childrens.


Medication and Giftings

The other thought I had was that these stimulant medications hinder these giftings that people with ADHD have. If it is helped naturally, than people can flourish and be ADHD and gifted at the same time.
